Shop and Donate

We always accept donations of any kind, particularly:  personal care items such as soap, shampoo or toothpaste, dishes, pots & pans, clothing, bath & bed linens, household cleaning items, etc.

Great Group Projects
A great way to get your office, family, civic group, congregation or friends involved is to collect items for our boxes.  Hold a party with an entry fee of one item. Start a contest at your office between departments or congregation, and purchase box items instead of exchanging gifts.

Thanksgiving boxes
Right before Thanksgiving, PDI puts together around 100 boxes of food/items for the holiday. Those boxes include pie crusts, butter, rolls, green beans, fried onions, cream of mushroom soup, pumpkin pie mix, potatoes, turkey, cranberry sauce and yams. We try to include all of the makings for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

Holiday boxes
Every year for the holiday we pack 150 boxes for our clients. In years past the boxes have included, jackets, blankets, slippers, stocking hats, gloves, toasters, grills, candy canes, hot chocolate, pop corn, cookies, candles, books, Christmas ornaments, candy bars, cider mix. We try to include things that will brighten the holiday sprit of our clients.

Grocery Center

Food for All
For all you “shop-a-holics” out there, think of Positive Directions next time you are shopping!  What better way to take advantage of those “2 for 1” or “buy one get one free” offers?    We have all seen those incredible offers while out shopping, but we often wonder what will I do with two of these?  Items we always need include hamburger and tuna helper meals, cereal and peanut butter, just to name a few.  We also shop our local Dillon’s and Sav-A-Lot stores, so gift certificates to those are also useful and appreciated!

Summer Time Abundance
This spring as your garden begins to provide an over abundance of fruit and vegetables, PDI’s grocery center is open Tuesday-Thursday.  Our clients love fresh tomatoes, squash, potatoes and other local produce.

Chilled to the Bone
We have installed a 6’x8’ walk in freezer!  That means if you happen to know someone that would like to donate turkey or ham for the holidays, we can store it!
